Does video chatting live here need an app?
No. Live video chat here happens in the browser, on desktop and on mobile. Live means your match is present at that moment, rather than a recording or a profile you message later.
- Open the site and press start. Nothing downloads and nothing needs updating.
- Camera permission is a one-time browser prompt, and that is the only setup.
- Filters can be set before you start, if you want to narrow the match.
- A chat box sits alongside the video, so typing is always an option.

Is this the same thing as webcam chat?
Yes. Webcam chat is the older name for exactly this, and the activity itself has barely changed. Two people talk to each other on video, and that is still what happens here.
The setup required for it has changed quite a bit over time, though. There is no software to install and no plugin to keep current, since the browser takes care of everything itself. If webcam chat is what you searched for, this is the current version of it.
Why 1 on 1 video chat and not a room?
Because in a room, everyone watches and nobody talks. A 1 on 1 video chat on VideoChat Club has two people in it and nobody else can see it. Skip, and someone new takes the seat.
That is the idea behind the name. Our club has a door and a table, and here the table seats two. Rooms have their place, and this site is for the conversation you have when nobody else is listening.
Who gets into the club?
Adults who keep to three rules. VideoChat Club confirms your age a single time at the start, and anyone under 18 is turned away. The rules are short: no harassment, respect a no, and nobody under 18.
The rules are enforced through reports. Nobody at VideoChat Club watches conversations, so when someone breaks a rule, you report them without leaving the chat. Someone on our team then reviews the report and removes the account if the rule was broken.

Things to know before you join VideoChat Club
Can I use VideoChat Club on my phone?
Yes. VideoChat Club loads in any phone browser, and the phone page has everything the desktop page has. Nothing to download for iPhone or Android.
Is the matching random, or can I choose?
Random by default, with filters to narrow it. Set the filters you want before pressing start, and the match is drawn from people who fit them.
Can I write instead of speaking?
Yes. The chat box alongside the video stays open the entire time, and you can type as much as you like. The video keeps running either way, because it is how both of you know a real person is there.
Is VideoChat Club free?
Yes. The opening chats cost you nothing, and no card is needed. When you reach the point of making an account, that is free as well.
Why does it ask for an account after a few chats?
The first chats are open so you can decide whether you like it. After those, an account is needed to keep going. It takes a moment, and nobody you meet can see it.
What happens once I file a report?
Someone on our team reads the report and reviews what it holds. If the rule was broken, the account behind it is removed. The report itself is deleted once the review is done.
